Youth Mental Health Grant Youth Mental Health Grant Kindred Foundation Youth Mental Health Grant Focused on supporting Black youth, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, youth living with a physical disability and where these communities come together. Kindred Foundation’s Youth Mental Health Grant started in 2022. From 2022-2024, this grant focused on supporting two youth communities, Black and/or 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
Beginning in 2025, we added a third focus, youth living with a physical disability. The goal of this grant is to help ensure that smaller-sized Canadian organizations directly supporting youth mental and physical health have the funds they need to carry out their mission. Kindred Foundation is honoured to be guided by experts and those with lived experience to design, direct, and be decision-makers for this funding initiative.

Click here for the presentation slides Click here for the recorded session A total of $255,000 will be awarded to support Black youth, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, youth living with a physical disability and where these communities come together. The grant duration is for one year. For awarded grants, if all funds can not be used in one year, there is the possibility of a 6- or 12-month extension on the gift agreement.
Organizations that applied and/or received funding in previous years can reapply if eligible. The supported initiative may be a project, program, etc. – the term “initiative” is used.
