Our grants build on a Koch family passion for creating a vibrant and inclusive community within their home state of Kansas. Grants made by the Koch Family Foundation are awarded to charitable organizations as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not to individuals. To be considered for funding, submit proposals by September 15.
Organization’s mission and goals General program description – Please provide a brief overview of the proposed program including objectives and desired outcomes. Specific program details – Please provide information including program implementation, staffing requirements, summary budget, outcomes, measures and program timetable. If applicable, list other funding support secured for the program.
Financial information (attach to letter) – Please provide a copy of the most recent audited financial statement and current annual budget.
Tax documentation (attach to letter) – Please provide the latest IRS documentation letter of tax-exempt status along with a brief statement, signed and dated on the organization’s letterhead, stating there has been no change in the purpose, character or organizational structure subsequent to the issuance of the IRS letter.
The Foundation does not seek proposals in support of: Individuals (other than the Koch Scholarship Awards Program) Individual schools and churches Athletic associations and sporting events/teams Trip and tour sponsorships Initiatives outside of Kansas, including national sponsorships and international requests Political, legislative or lobbying When are grant proposals accepted? Completed grant requests are accepted throughout the year.
However, complete proposals must be received by September 15 to be reviewed and considered for approval at the annual board meeting. When are Foundation grants awarded? The majority of grants are awarded in December following the annual board of directors’ meeting.

We’re proud to provide funds for Music Theatre Wichita’s summer performances and shows, as well as interns who work in all areas, from acting to costumes to props, to help them further develop their talents. Youth Entrepreneurs (YE) equips high school students with the entrepreneurial skills, values and vision to pursue their dreams.
Since 1991, we’ve provided support for the more than 30,000 students who have experienced YE’s engaging hands-on curriculum.
