Single and multi-year grant requests are accepted through open requests for proposals (RFPs) in six priority areas. We also accept proposals for our Discretionary Fund on a rolling basis.
**Eligibility Guidelines** Consideration for grant funding is made to nonprofit organizations that: * Are registered as a 501(c)(3) * Align strongly with at least one of the Foundation’s RFP initiatives * Serve individuals and communities in Greater Boston (Boston, Brockton, Cambridge, Chelsea, Quincy, Randolph, and Somerville), Greater Puget Sound, and select counties of Washington State (King, Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston, Kitsap and Spokane counties) * Have not received funding from Liberty Mutual Foundation within the past 12 months * Liberty Mutual Foundation does not provide funding to * Foundations that are primarily grantmaking agencies * Religious organizations and/or sectarian activities * Fraternal, social or political organizations * Trips, tours or transportation * Deficit spending or debt liquidation * Conferences, forums or special events * Non-functionally integrated supporting organizations as classified by the IRS * Organizations that have submitted a proposal within the past 12 months * Types of supportLiberty Mutual Foundation primarily provides programmatic and general operating support to 501(C)(3) organizations.
Priority is given to organizations and projects that serve low-income youth and young adults. Each year, the Foundation awards a limited number of capital grants to current partner organizations whose missions closely align with our strategic grantmaking framework.
