Cardiovascular Product and Charitable Donations | Abbott Medical Device Grants and Donations Welcome to the Abbott Medical Device Grants Program We offer a variety of grant and donation opportunities to support education, charitable initiatives, fellowships, and product donations. Our grant committees specialize in therapies related to Cardiovascular medical devices. Please explore the options below to learn more and apply.
The Abbott Medical Device Educational Grant Program accepts requests for educational programs for healthcare professionals, patients/caregivers, and the general public that cover therapy areas associated with: Cardiac Rhythm Management Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the start of the program, but Abbott encourages submission at least 60 days prior to when a decision is needed.
Requestors must submit only one application per event. Due to reporting requirements in the Physician Payments Sunshine Act, Abbott will no longer support elements of education that involve a transfer of value to U.S. licensed healthcare professionals, including honoraria, travel, lodging, food & beverage. Grants can be used for general expenses, such as accreditation, audio/visual, management expenses, marketing, and room rental.
Abbott personnel, including contract employees, are not permitted to submit applications on behalf of a requestor. All grant requests are given equal consideration. Requests may receive full, partial, or no support.
Prior awards do not guarantee future funding.

The Abbott Medical Device Grants program is not able to accept any fellowship application once the portal has closed. Abbott’s Medical Device Fellowship program is designed to provide grant money to support fellowship programs at U.S.-based Teaching Hospitals and Universities. Only US-based organizations may apply.
International organizations are not eligible for this program. Fellows may not apply on their own behalf, and the fellow(s) name must not appear anywhere on the submitted application. The selection of fellow(s) receiving support from an awarded fellowship grant is the sole discretion of the organization requesting a fellowship grant.
Abbott personnel, including contract employees, are not permitted to submit applications on behalf of a requestor. This program only awards funds for one academic year; your organization must apply each year. All grant requests are given equal consideration.

Apply for Fellowship Grant Frequently Asked Questions The Abbott Medical Device Domestic (US) Product Donation Program accepts requests to support US-based organizations with donated products for an indigent patient they have identified. All other costs of the procedure must be donated to qualify.
Product can be requested from the following Abbott Divisions: Cardiac Rhythm Management Requests must be submitted at least 5 days and no more than 30 days prior to the implant date. In the event of a medical emergency requiring immediate use of an Abbott product, an application may be submitted up to 5 days after the implant of the product.

International Product Donation Frequently Asked Questions Abbott is required by federal and state transparency regulations to report most payments involving physicians (directly and indirectly). During the formal application process, you will be asked to certify that you will provide Abbott with any information or assurances it needs to satisfy such transparency obligations.
Failure to do so may require you to return some or all of the grant funds awarded by Abbott and will make you ineligible to receive funding in the future. Further detail will be provided on the information and/or assurances you will be required to provide. Your compliance is required, and Abbott cannot make any exceptions.

Physician Payments Sunshine Act The Physician Payments Sunshine Act is a federal law that requires healthcare manufacturers to track and report payments and transfers of value (POTV) to certain healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs). Congress passed the Sunshine Act in 2010 in the interest of providing greater transparency into interactions between the healthcare industry and healthcare providers.
