If you are seeking funding for a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), the first place to start is the dealer map below. Search for a National Mobility Equipment Dealer Association (NMEDA) dealer near you and request a meeting.
Your dealer will work with you to perform a Needs Analysis, which includes: Your financial capacity to own, insure, and maintain a WAV The type of vehicle you need How the vehicle will be used Annual miles to be driven Needed equipment such as driving aids and occupant securement systems The dealer will assess what can be financed based on your income and credit.
If there is a gap in funding, your dealer will submit a grant application to Bridge to Mobility directly on your behalf. All applicants are notified by their NMEDA dealer of the grant application outcome. Note that all applications are submitted to the grant committee “blind” as it relates to the specific NMEDA dealer, the manufacturer of the WAV, and the location of the dealer.
NMEDA US Dealer Locations Supplementary Funding Campaigns All grant applicants are strongly encouraged to seek supplementary funding for their WAV purchase. We partner with Help Hope Live, a non-profit, charity donation website that helps individuals do community-based fundraising for medical expenses not covered by insurance.
