Music Therapy Impact Fund Grant Application The Music Therapy Impact Fund - establishing music therapy as a standard in healthcare. “Music therapy is the professional use of music and its elements as an intervention in medical, educational, and everyday environments with individuals, groups, families, or communities who seek to optimize their quality of life and improve their physical, social, communicative, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health and wellbeing. Research, practice, education, and clinical training in music therapy are based on professional standards according to cultural, social, and political contexts” (World Federation of Music Therapy, 2011). The Music Therapy Impact Fund is dedicated to expanding high-quality, research-informed music therapy services throughout Butte County. Priorities include strengthening current programs and building new programs to meet the needs of our community The Fund is committed to reducing financial barriers so participants can access meaningful, life-enhancing music therapy experiences at little to no cost. Grants are available to individuals who would benefit from enhanced access to music therapy, music-based wellness and therapeutic support. Grants are open year round, and may be submitted by care partners, therapeutic team members, family members, or the recipient themselves.
