Accessia Health: Assisting Patients with CIDP and MG | Accessia Health Accessia Health Opens Programs For Individuals With Rare Autoimmune Diseases CIDP and Myasthenia Gravis Midlothian, Va. (February 11, 2025) – Accessia Health, a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) patient assistance organization, is now offering financial assistance to those living with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and myasthenia gravis (MG).

Through the CIDP and MG Patient Programs, eligible individuals can use their funding for medication copays, health insurance premiums, travel costs, and other related medical expenses such as durable medical equipment, diagnostic testing, therapy services, and more. CIDP is a neurological disorder characterized by progressive weakness in the arms and legs, accompanied by impairment of sensory functions.

It is caused by damage to the myelin sheath of the peripheral nerves in the arms and legs, and can be mild or very severe. MG is a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. These muscles are responsible for functions involving breathing and moving parts of the body, including the arms and legs.

Living with either one of these autoimmune diseases leads to a diminished quality of life for many. Some of these health challenges include difficulty walking or standing, loss of reflexes, and weakness. The cost of obtaining care is often a significant barrier to care that people face in getting the treatment they need.

Funding through Accessia Health through these two new programs will help to improve access to overall care for those who would otherwise go without. The organization’s patient assistance programs are designed to support those living with a rare or chronic health condition and alleviate some of the stress that may come with medical expenses.
