The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students pursuing an eligible training or degree program for a primary care health profession. In return, scholars commit to providing primary care health services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). ## How long will I have to serve?
You commit to a minimum of two years (and four years maximum) of full-time service. You must serve at an NHSC-approved site in a HPSA. The total number of years you serve depends on the number of school years of NHSC Scholarship support you receive.

* Provide primary health care services to communities in need. ### Payment of educational expenses We pay for full-time enrollment in an eligible degree or training program. We will support up to four school years with: * Payment of tuition and eligible fees.
* An annual payment for other reasonable educational costs(PDF - 310 KB). * Monthly stipends to assist with living expenses while you are in school. _**Note:** You will not receive financial support during postgraduate training.
