The Governor's Office of Federal Assistance’s Grant Matching Fund Program (GMP) is available for our stakeholders who need matching/cost sharing funding when applying for a competitive federal grant. These are committed funds. After you win the competitive federal award and have returned the signed award agreement from OFA, we will pay your Grant Matching Program award in full per your Letter of Commitment. Once these funds leave our account, they are "expended".

The 'Uncommitted Funds" balance is what is left over when you subtract all expended awards and the amounts from all the accepted Letters of Commitment. For example, the year started with $1,000,000. 00 in the GMP account.

We expended $490,000 and have $300,000. 00 in outstanding letters of commitment. This means the "uncommitted funds" balance is $210,000.

00. What Happens If I Don't Win My Grant & I Have a Letter of Commitment? If you have a letter of commitment and do NOT win the federal grant award, notify us immediately.

Once notified, the committed funds become immediately available for someone else. In the example above, if none of the outstanding letters of commitment receive their grant awards, the committed balance (example: $300,000) gets added back to the "uncommitted funds" balance. Making the new balance of uncommitted funds $510,000.

00 ($210,000 + $300,000 = $510,000). The "Uncommitted Funds" balance fluctuates frequently due to the unpredictability of the federal awarding process. We encourage to you to submit your application regardless.

If we do not have any "uncommitted funds", your application will still be reviewed and processed accordingly. If funds become available, the next application in line will not have to wait to get their letter of commitment. 00 North Las Vegas Fire Department FFY19: Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants - $45,129 From the 2019 legislative session, Assembly Bill 489 created the Grant Matching Fund (GMP) pilot program to provide matching funds to state agencies, local governments, tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations applying for federal and nongovernmental organization grants.

Senate Bill 528 of the 2019 session appropriated $1 million to fund the grants awarded by the pilot program. The pilot GMP was approved by the Interim Finance Committee in December 2019 and launched in January 2020. Within the first three months of accepting applications, $970,000 was committed.

However, because of unforeseen budgetary impacts due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, the program stopped accepting applications in April 2020. In fiscal year 2020, the Grant Matching Pilot Program committed $925,049 and ultimately awarded $45,129. Assembly Bill 445 of the 2021 Nevada legislative session extended the GMP, narrowing it to fund matches for federal grants only .

An appropriation of $1 million was approved to fund the Grant Match Account for fiscal year 2022. Beginning July 1, 2022, the permanent program will be administered by the newly formed Office of Federal Assistance. Self Certification Form SFY25 00.
