Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) | Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) The NSGP is a competitive grant program intended to provide federal funding for physical and cybersecurity enhancements and other security-related activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack.
ALEA is pleased to announce that the FY26 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) will soon be open for application. In preparation for this, we are offering two in-person application workshops to be hosted in Montgomery, AL and Hoover, AL. The links to register for the trainings are below.
**Regarding FY25 NSGP applications , we currently have still not received final award information from FEMA regarding this. When awards are made, you will be notified in the grant portal and via email or awards and denials.
** FY26 NSGP Application Period: (**Subaward funding contingent upon Federal Award from FEMA) June 1, 2026 to July 15, 2026 Applications should be submitted through our online portal which can be accessed at: https://grants. alabama. gov and are due by 11:59pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Who is eligible to apply for this funding? Eligible nonprofit organizations are only those organizations that are described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (IRC) and exempt from tax under section 501(a) of such code. * Ability to demonstrate, through the application, that the organization is at HIGH RISK of a terrorist attack or other extremist attacks.
*Note: Organizations such as churches, mosques, and synagogues are considered automatically exempt if they meet the requirements of section 501(c)(3) and do not have to apply for and receive recognition of exemption from the IRS.
