6 million in rebate funding for the replacement of existing internal combustion engines (ICE) Class 6 and 7 vehicles with zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) through the North Texas Zero Emissions Vehicles (NTxZEV) Call for Projects (CFP). The NTxZEV Call for Projects is now open, and NCTCOG is still accepting project applications. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, May 15, 2026, 5 PM Central Time.
As a reminder, applications are due "in-hand," meaning all relevant documents must be delivered to NCTCOG offices either in-person or through the mail as a hard copy or on a flash drive. * Requirements of replacement vehicle and new vehicle are below: Replacement Vocational Vehicle New Vocational Vehicle Non-zero-emission vehicle with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 19,501 to 33,000 lbs Must have operated > 7,000 miles/year or idled for at least 500 hours/year during the prior 24 months EMY 2023 or newer Class 6/7 hydrogen fuel cell or battery-electric vehicle Purchased after notification of rebate award Subject to Build America, Buy America Other eligible activities could include electric vehicle charging infrastructure and hydrogen refueling stations that supports vehicles purchased with NTxZEV Rebate Funding.
NCTCOG has complied vendor information for applicants to the NTxZEV CFP to utilize as an informational resource. Information inlcuded was provided by vendors including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Dealers, and other entities selling vehicles OR eligible infrastructure.
Additionally, entities providing other services to support an NTxZEV CFP application or project (e.g. consulting, turnkey services, additional softwares) have also provided information in the "Other Services" section. NOTE: These other services are likely NOT eligible for NTxZEV funding. NTxZEV-Vendor-Information-Form-Results (Updated 5/1/2026) The Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) has an Alternative Fuel and Advanced Vehicle Search that can assist in finding eligible new vocational vehicles for funding under this program. Information on electric vehicles can be found here . Information on hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles can be found here .
Eligibility Requirements and Funding Levels Eligible Activities: The replacement of existing ICE Class 6 and 7 vehicles with ZEV. Projects may include battery-electric and/or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as well as the installation of supporting charging or fueling infrastructure, as needed.
Eligible Applicants: Eligible applicants include public and private sector fleets who have adopted a policy consistent with the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) Clean Fleet Policy . This policy, or similar, must be adopted prior to the application deadline.
Eligible Project Area: Vehicles must operate primarily within or frequently travel through the 16-county (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise) NCTCOG region. Supporting infrastructure must be located within the NCTCOG region. NCTCOG acknowledges that many eligible vehicles may not stay confined to the NCTCOG region.
Thus, NCTCOG may award funds to vehicles that demonstrate a substantial portion of operation in the area bounded by the interstates that comprise the Texas Triangle as shown in the map below. Project Selection: NCTCOG will select vehicle replacement activities and program beneficiaries through the NTxZEV Call for Projects. Review NTxZEV CFP Guidelines for more information on project selection.
Funding Levels: Through the NTxZEV CFP, there is approximately $58. 6 million available in funding. EPA has established eligible funding amounts available for each vehicle and fuel type, as seen in the table below.
Funding for each vehicle replacement project is limited by the cost share percentage or dollar funding cap, whichever is lower.

The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR, formerly known as NREL) provides unbiased, free, and customizable technical assistance to help states, communities, tribal governments, transit agencies, school districts, and other fleets plan and deploy fueling and charging infrastructure as well as transit, school buses, and medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
