For US Health Care Professionals Only Resources for health care professionals Areas of Therapeutic Interest Resources and Contact Information Alliance Development: General Medicines Patient Advocacy Relations: Oncology Resources and Contact Information The mission of the Novartis Office of Grants and Education (NOGE) and the Novartis Oncology Office of Grants and Education (OGE) is to support high quality educational programs for healthcare professionals that will improve patient care and which are fully compliant with all legal, regulatory and Novartis guidelines.
Consistent with Federal Law and ethical standards under which Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation conducts business, grants must never be linked to prescribing, purchasing, formulary status or reimbursement. Any grant requests for activities taking place within the United States (U.S.), or including U.S. HCPs as participants must be submitted to NOGE/OGE for review and consideration.
As a commitment to improving patient care, NOGE and OGE will evaluate educational grant requests that are independent of commercial bias and non-promotional in nature. Educational grants can be requested to support live events, web-based education, or enduring medical educational material.
NOGE and OGE will accept grant requests for professional medical education programs from the following: Accredited continuing medical education providers Hospitals, community health centers Academic medical centers, medical universities Professional medical associations/societies Managed care organizations Medical education partner companies/providers NOGE will evaluate grant requests for support of Research Fellowships (for Residents and Fellows) submitted by professional medical associations/societies and medical institutions.
Fellowship award recipients should not have already been chosen. Oncology (OGE) will accept requests for funding of Professional Medical Sponsorships which include fellowships,research or merit awards, noneducational closed research meetings, and professional society membership dues.
Components of a Complete Grant Request (General Criteria for Grants) Request is submitted at least 60 days prior to program start date Request is in alignment with areas of interest to Novartis Objectives are clearly defined and aligned with the needs assessment Agenda is consistent with objectives Budget is reasonable and cost-effective Outcomes measurement plan W-9 that is dated and signed within 1 year of grant submission In order to be considered, a complete grant application package must be submitted to NOGE/OGE at least 60 calendar days prior to the event date.
If the completed grant application package is not received at least 60 days prior to the event date, the grant request may be denied. OGE Requirement: For grants that are a Post-Congress review, your grant request must be received at least 60 days prior to the start of the Medical Congress.
Request For Proposals (RFP's) Grant Requests Not Supported Educational grants that will not be identified for support by NOGE or OGE include: Grants requests received less than 60 days prior to the activity start date Grants which are not within the identified therapeutic areas of interest (see Areas of Clinical grants, including Investigator Initiated Trials. This type of grant request may be supported within other areas of Novartis.
