FARSB Receives $60,000 Grant from Albertson’s Companies O Organics Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 Photo Credits: Nourishing Neighbors Feeding America Riverside| San Bernardino (FARSB) received a generous $60,000 grant from Albertsons Pavilions and Vons Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors Program to combat hunger during the summer months when children face higher rates of food insecurity.
The grant is part of the “Fight Hunger, Serve Hope” initiative from Albertsons Pavilions and Vons private label brand O Organics. As the charitable partner for Albertsons, Pavilions, and Vons locations, we're honored to be a grant recipient of the Nourishing Neighbors initiative.
The funds will support our Grab n’ Go Program, a crucial effort to combat hunger during the summer months when children who rely on school meals are out of session. Through this program, we aim to ensure that all children in the Inland Empire have access to the nutrition they need year-round, with distributions across local school districts.
This funding allows us to ensure that school-aged children and their families have enough to eat. Generous donations like this enable us to continue and expand this vital work, meeting the growing needs of our community.
Albertsons Pavilions and Vons Foundation’s private label brand O Organics has donated a total of $7 million in 2024 to the Nourishing Neighbors Program to fund grants dedicated to enhancing school breakfasts, providing weekend breakfast food, backpack programs with food to take home, summer breakfast meals and many other breakfast-related programs.
