Older Americans Act Title III-C Nutrition Services is a federal program funded under the Older Americans Act that provides grants to states and territories, which then award funds to local Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) to operate congregate and home-delivered meal programs for older adults. The program serves adults aged 60 and older, with priority given to those with the greatest economic and social need. Congregate meals are served at senior centers and other community sites; home-delivered meals serve homebound seniors unable to prepare their own food. Title III-C funding also supports nutrition screening, education, and counseling. States distribute funds to AAAs based on a formula reflecting the proportion of older adults.
