The Fund will award grants to community-based organizations that engage residents affected by the opioid epidemic through programs in substance use disorder treatment, overdose prevention, substance misuse awareness and education, and harm reduction, in addition to holistic programs that address collective trauma and stigma associated with substance use and promote mental well-being for communities and community-based workers in the substance-use disorder field.
Funding will be provided for evidence-based practices for the treatment, prevention, and recovery of substance use disorders in Pasco County. Funding requests must be consistent with the Community Abatement Plan and with Schedule A - Core Strategies, as stipulated in the Florida Plan. We are now opening Year 4 of the fund.

The Pasco County Opioid Task Force awarded opioid settlement funding through the Opioid Treatment, Prevention, and Recovery Fund Program to BayCare Behavioral Health to open the first Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Florida. In 2025, Pasco County earned the Florida Association of County Health Services Administrators (FACSHA) Innovation Award for demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to public health delivery.
