2025 SCACED Community Impact Fund Grant Application 2025 SCACED Community Impact Fund Grant Application The Community Impact Fund (CIF) is made possible through the generous support of the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation (MRBF).
With a total of $70,000 in funding, the CIF supports SCACED member organizations that are leading transformative, community-rooted work that expands access, equity, and long-term opportunity for South Carolina residents.
Guided by MRBF’s mission to help people and places move out of poverty and achieve greater social and economic justice, the CIF strengthens the capacity of local organizations to build power, influence systems, and uplift the voices of historically marginalized communities. SCACED will award ten (10) grant awards in the amount of $7,000 each. Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria: Must be a current SCACED member (membership must be current as of July 15, 2025 ) Must be an established 501(c)(3) organization Must have adequate financial statements for the past year (990 or Audit) Must provide active programs targeted to building wealth and improving socioeconomic conditions for low-income individuals and communities Must NOT be a current Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation grantee Must demonstrate alignment with the values and vision of the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation Capacity Building – Organizational training, technical assistance, or infrastructure development to enhance impact and sustainability Grassroots Leadership Development – Cultivating community-based leaders, including youth, returning citizens, and low-income residents Microbusiness Development – Supporting entrepreneurship, cooperative business models, and technical support for small and informal businesses Workforce Development & Job Training – Preparing individuals for employment or advancement in emerging and local industries Financial Empowerment & Literacy – Providing education and tools to help individuals and families build financial resilience Marketing and Outreach (Technology) – Enhancing communications, digital outreach, or branding to expand visibility and engagement Examples of Eligible Projects: Hosting a leadership academy for emerging community advocates Launching a microenterprise incubator for women-owned or rural businesses Developing a culturally relevant financial literacy curriculum Organizing a technology-based outreach campaign to increase program participation Offering certification or skill-building workshops for underemployed residents Conducting a communications audit to improve digital engagement Facilitating training sessions for board/staff on equity-centered practices Preference will be given to projects that: Are led by or directly benefit Black, Brown, Indigenous, rural, or other underrepresented communities Contribute to long-term systems change and collective self-determination Demonstrate collaboration across organizations, sectors, or communities Reflect innovation, cultural relevance, and sustainability Application must be complete and submitted by Tuesday, July 15, 2025 by 11:59 PM EST.

SCACED develops an independent grant review committee that is separate from the SCACED Board of Directors, SCACED committees and SCACED staff and is responsible for making final funding recommendations for grants awarded. Organizations with primary physical location in one of the above listed rural counties will receive an additional five (5) points on the application.
Project Summary Description (100 words maximum) Organizational Background (500 words maximum) (10 Points)Please summarize the purpose of the organization to include: history, mission, current programs, current community impact of existing programs, achievements, number of paid staff and critical partners.
Funding Request (750 words maximum) (30 points) A: Describe the project's primary purpose and the need or problem that you are seeking to address. B. Describe the population you plan to serve and how they will benefit from the project.
C. Describe the strategies you will employ for project implementation including staffing and partners (if applicable) for the project. Impact and Program Evaluation (500 words maximum) (20 points) a.
Select 2-4 outcomes that can be achieved within the next 12 months (must be measurable outcomes)b. Please explain how you will measure the effectiveness of your project with the outcomes above. Describe your criteria for a successful program and the results you expect to have achieved by end of the funding period.
Budget (10 points): Please provide the total cost of the project and breakdown of project costs. You may provide a brief narrative of the project budget below. List any anticipated contributions for project.
