The PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation was formed as a catalyst to distribute funds generated from the PenTex Energy Operation Round Up® program. The accumulated “rounded up” pennies from our member owners’ monthly bills will be used to carry out the mission of PECF, which is to accumulate and disburse funds for charitable purposes to benefit the members in the service area of PenTex Energy.
PECF is an independent, non-profit organization. An independent board of directors, made up of your community leaders, governs PECF and oversees the distribution of funds to individuals and organizations for public safety, health needs, self-sufficiency, basic human needs, and the cultural environment. Each of these board members provides their time and resources free of charge.
PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation Presents Organizational Grants The PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation Board of Directors proudly presented organizational grants to twenty very worthy organizations within the PenTex Energy service area on September 11, 2020.
There were a number of local institutions that exemplify the mission statement of PECF, to accumulate and disburse funds to individuals and organizations for public safety, health needs, self-sufficiency, basic human needs, and cultural environment. This year, PECF generously disbursed $66,000 in funding to the organizations that qualified.
PECF was formed as a catalyst to distribute funds generated from the PenTex Energy members through the Operation Round-Up program. The collected “rounded-up” pennies from the member’s monthly bills are used to assist members in the PenTex Energy service area. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of our generous members who were instrumental in making these donations possible.
Vicki Robertson resides in Gainesville. Vicki worked as a Legal Assistant in the areas of criminal, civil and family law for a number of years before coming to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of North Texas where it was her honor to serve for twenty years. Fifteen of these years, she served as Executive Director.
Vicki served as the elected representative for local CASA programs in the Northern region on the Texas CASA Board of Directors. She retired in 2021. Vicki serves in the children’s ministry at Denton Bible Church and on the Board of Directors of Mary Elizabeth Maternity Home.
Mary Ann Foster, Secretary-Treasury, is a recently retired itinerant teacher of children with visual impairments. Mary Ann has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, has worked in Cooke, Denton and Grayson counties and is currently the children’s Minister at Vilott Baptist Church. She has resided in the community of Woodbine with her husband Jim for the past 30 years.
Clint Brown is a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration, is a retired FBI agent with 30 years of service to the Federal Bureau of Investigations. He currently ranches in Montague County and is the Chairman of the Montague County Child Welfare Board and President of Nocona Nights, a Chamber Dinner/Concert Series.
He has delivered Meals on Wheels in Fort Worth for 17 years and is a pilot for Angel Flight. He and his wife De have two daughters and three grandsons. Ken Cash, Vice Chairman of PECF, was born and raised in the Starkey Community and is a graduate of Nocona High School.
He served in Vietnam while in the United Sates Army and was employed for 40 years by the USDA Natural Resource Conservations Service working in various counties in Texas. Mr. Cash now serves as an Elder with the Nocona Church of Christ, serves on the Montague County Disaster Board and the Starkey Cemetery Board. He and his wife Danna live on the old home place in Starkey Community between Nocona and Saint Jo, Texas.
Together, they have been involved in foster care for 35 years and have cared for nearly 80 infants prior to adoption. Jane Hess Monday, comes from a family long involved in the Muenster community. Jane is a former business owner and an active volunteer at Sacred Heart Church where she serves as lector, Religious Education, and Vacation Bible School instructor and serves on the Senior Center board.
She has served her community as a Chamber of Commerce and Germanfest board member, Muenster History Book Committee member and P. T. O.
president. Jane and her husband Roy now operate JMR ranch outside of Muenster where she enjoys the company of her two children, six grandchildren, and a menagerie of animals. PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation (PECF) Applicant Guidelines for Distribution of the PenTex Energy Operation Round Up® Fund The role of PECF regarding the PenTex Energy Operation Round Up® Fund is to make the best use of the funds entrusted to the foundation.
The mission of PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation is the accumulation and disbursement of funds for charitable purposes to benefit the members in the service area of PenTex Energy. This shall be accomplished by the disbursement of funds to individuals and organizations for public safety, health needs, self-sufficiency, basic human needs, and the cultural environment.
Grant applications will be reviewed using the following guidelines: There is an apparent need for funding. There is an evident benefit to an individual, the community, and/or nearby communities. For projects, there is a clear timeline for completion.
The grant application fits the overall charitable purposes of Operation Round Up®.
Primary Areas of Consideration for Individuals: An unforeseen event/condition has occurred (e.g. a special need caused by an event/condition that was neither expected nor intended) A special need for applicants who are: Suffering from a debilitating disease-as verified in writing by a medical doctor; or Disabled-as verified in writing by a medical doctor; or, Elderly-65 years of age or older as verified by identification.
Primary Areas of Consideration for Organizations/Agencies: The PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation Board of Directors is free to support, question, or deny any request. If an individual is not selected for funding they may reapply no sooner than 1 year. Grant requests for organizations must be received by June 1st each year.
Board action will be taken on organizational requests on the 2nd Tuesday in July each year. Individuals’ grant requests will be considered as needed. If an emergency need exists that is considered critical to health, safety or human welfare PenTex Energy Charitable Foundation may consider an application request outside of this schedule.
