Join our group – Landry Lab at UC Berkeley The Landry Lab seeks motivated, curious, innovative, and collaborative researchers to join our group. Our research lies at the intersection of many exciting disciplines, namely single-molecule fluorescence microscopy, surface science, nanotechnology, and life sciences.

We encourage prospective group members to apply from any related discipline, following the application procedures below: Candidates should have a PhD by the postdoctoral appointment start-date, and provide evidence of scientific excellence, and creativity, preferably through a strong peer-reviewed publication record.

We seek postdoctoral candidates from the fields of chemical engineering, physics & biophysics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. Interested scientists should email their CV, names & contact information of three individuals who can provide a letter of reference, and a brief 1-paragraph summary of the area(s) of research you wish to undertake in our group to: landry[at]berkeley[dot]edu.

Prospective postdoctoral researchers are strongly encouraged to identify potential extramural postdoctoral funding , and work with Professor Landry to submit a research proposal. Preference will be given to candidates that have secured extramural funding.

Graduate students are welcome to join our group through several UC Berkeley graduate programs, including the Berkeley Applied Science & Technology program , the Biophysics Graduate Group , the Chemical Biology Graduate Program , and the Chemical and Biological Engineering Graduate Program . Our group meetings are open to interested students and collaborators.

Beehive lists available research opportunities on the UC Berkeley campus, and is the best place to start when seeking undergraduate research opportunities. The graduate student and postdoctoral scientists in the Landry lab hold discretion over when an undergraduate project is available.

To identify a project that may be of interest to you, our group meetings are open to all, and students interested in learning about our work are welcome to join. At UC Berkeley, undergraduates can obtain course credit for extracurricular research through the UC Berkeley Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program (URAP) . Students completing Fall or Spring URAPs are eligible for a summer stipend supported URAP .

Undergraduate students are encouraged pair with a graduate student via UC Berkeley SMART Mentoring for opportunities to explore new research and present results on campus and at national conferences.
