Providing Opportunities for Lifelong Learning Grants - SC Afterschool Alliance Providing Opportunities for Lifelong Learning Grants The SC Afterschool Alliance is proud to partner with Governor Henry McMaster, SC Department of Education, and the SC Department of Juvenile Justice to administer up to $14 million dollars over 3 years to support afterschool and summer learning in South Carolina.
The Providing Opportunities for Lifelong Learning Grants program has been made available through the CARES Act for the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund and the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER), signed into law by President Biden in March of 2021. The application deadline was Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:59 p. m.

We anticipate Grant Announcements being made by March 11th. The SC Afterschool Alliance is excited about partnering in this significant funding opportunity. Up to $100,000 is available for BOTH (spring and summer programming periods) or $50,000 for each programming period.
Who’s eligible? Community-based organizations that operate comprehensive, evidence-based afterschool and summer programs. The purpose of the grants is to respond to students’ academic, social and emotional needs and address the disproportionate impact of COVID-19, including supporting students at high risk of dropping out of school or becoming involved with the juvenile justice system.
Priority will be given to programs in underserved areas serving underrepresented youth who are: eligible for free or reduced-priced lunch, English language learners, experiencing homelessness, or in foster care. Priority populations include, but are not limited to, youth of color, youth with disabilities, and migrant youth. Use SurveyMonkey to complete and submit the application.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students.
