Regional Planning Grant | Minnesota Housing Apply for Housing Assistance in the Coordinated Entry System Coordinated Entry Project Details Apply to Administer Grant Funding Minnesota Interagency Council on Homelessness (MICH) Regional Planning Grant to Prevent & End Homelessness The Regional Planning Grant to Prevent and End Homelessness is designed to support the capacity of Greater Minnesota Continuums of Care (CoCs) and Tribal Nations to prevent and end homelessness while improving the regional homeless response system to help it be more equitable.
The goal of this grant is to focus on ongoing collaborative efforts and develop new initiatives that coordinate strategies among various stakeholders. Enhancing efforts among stakeholders is meant to help regions throughout Minnesota be more effective when advancing goals to prevent and end homelessness.
Regional Planning Grant Frequently Asked Questions Request for Proposals - Funding Available Minnesota Housing is now accepting applications for the Regional Planning Grant to Prevent and End Homelessness (RPG) Request for Proposals (RFP). The RPG supports Greater Minnesota’s six Continuums of Care (CoCs) and Tribal Nations in working with state agencies to prevent and end homelessness.
There are two separate activities within the RPG RFP that applicants may apply for: Planning support and capacity enhancement Minnesota Housing anticipates awarding up to $900,000 in grant funds for the grant period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. Funding is contingent upon legislative approval, the availability of state appropriations, and the commitment and availability of Greater Minnesota Housing Fund resources.
Applications are due at noon Central time on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Eligible applicants include: Federally recognized Tribal Nations (or Tribally designated housing entities) within the state of Minnesota. CoCs: A nonprofit or governmental entity can apply on behalf of a Greater Minnesota CoC.
An eligible applicant must have an official designation from the CoC. These funds are intended to support regional planning strategies that prevent and end homelessness by increasing capacity for coordination, system planning, and equitable access to housing resources. Funded efforts must align with HUD CoC goals and state homeless program priorities to ensure a cohesive statewide response.
While Minnesota Housing recognizes that other funding sources may support similar regional planning activities, no in-kind or matching funds are required for these grant resources. Instead, these funds are designed to enhance coordination and equity within the state’s homeless response system and advance Minnesota Housing’s mission to ensure housing stability for all.
All of the following checklist items must be completed properly and submitted using the Secure Upload Tool by the application deadline to meet the threshold criteria. Only applications meeting the threshold criteria will be considered for funding.
