Cottrell Scholar Award is sponsored by Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA). Available to early career faculty at U.S. and Canadian research universities and primarily undergraduate institutions. Eligible applicants are tenure-track faculty who hold primary or courtesy appointments in chemistry, physics, or astronomy departments that offer bachelor's and/or graduate degrees in the applicant's discipline.

The Cottrell Scholar Regional Meeting Awards is a grant from the Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA) that funds one-day regional scientific meetings hosted by Cottrell Scholars and Holland Awardees. Awards of $5,000 support up to four meetings per year at host institutions, covering research or education themes designed to appeal broadly to the Cottrell Scholar community, postdoctoral fellows, and students from nearby institutions. Priority is given to meetings at primarily undergraduate institutions and research universities, with special consideration for cross-institutional diversity. Outreach to underrepresented groups and minority-serving institutions is strongly encouraged.

The UKRI Policy Fellowships 2025, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, offer 18-month placements for academics to co-design research with UK government and What Works Network host organizations. Awards range from £180,000 to £280,000 and support three fellowship tracks: core policy fellows, Natural Hazards and Resilience policy fellows, and What Works Innovation fellows. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent research experience, be based at a UKRI-eligible UK organization, and possess relevant subject matter or methodological expertise. Government-hosted positions target early to mid-career academics, while What Works fellowships welcome all career stages. Fellows work directly with policymakers to bridge academic research and policy development on pressing national and global challenges. The application deadline is July 15, 2025.
