Proposal Guidelines | Seawell Elam Foundation PROPOSAL GUIDELINES & DATES Our submission process takes place in two rounds: a short proposal letter, explained in detail below, and then from those submissions our Board invites a select number of organizations to submit a full grant application. Dates and deadlines are below. Please note: We only consider grants on an every other year basis.
If you received a grant in 2025, you will need to wait until 2027 to reapply. 1) Use the form provided in the link below. 2) Your proposal text should not be longer than two pages (approximately 1000 words).
The proposal should be a brief and clear description of the proposed project, stating exactly how the SEF grant money will be spent, including a time frame for the project. PLEASE DO make a point to briefly illustrate how your project will address the cyclical nature of poverty. 3) Please include a copy of your 501 (c) (3) designation in PDF format.
Please do not send photos, staff resumes, organizational budgets, or anything but the information asked for above. If your organization receives a grant application, we will contact you and additional information will be requested at that time. We may request a site visit but please keep in mind this does not mean that your organization will receive a grant or has a higher priority over other organizations that have applied for funding.
May 22: Proposal letters to SEF must be submitted on or before this date. August 10: Those organizations whose proposals meet current funding priorities will receive grant application forms by this date. September 25: Those organizations that receive grant applications must have the application submitted by this date.
December 7: Those groups who have been selected to receive a grant will be notified by this date. Seawell Elam Foundation will only accept proposal letters submitted through this website.
