SCHDF monies are awarded through two AHFC programs which are outlined below. Under these programs, eligible recipients for SCHDF monies are limited to municipalities or public or private nonprofit corporations designated as tax exempt under 26 U.S.C. 501(c) (3) and (4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.
Greater Opportunities for Affordable Living (GOAL) The GOAL program provides grants, federal tax credits, and zero-interest federal loans to developers and project sponsors who build affordable rental housing for low- to moderate-income families and seniors. The program is open to for-profit corporations, nonprofit agencies, and regional housing authorities.
