Services for Older Adults | OCCF Services for Older Adults Encouraging health and reducing social isolation are key to helping older individuals maintain active, independent lifestyles. The Services for Older Adults Community Grant supports direct services that focus on the wellbeing of older adults, 65+ years, who would otherwise be isolated or unable to participate in community programs.
These services include essential home modifications to provide safe, independent living; wellness and physical activities for improved health; and social and recreational services. The grant range is up to $30,000. View the previous year’s Grant Guidelines* . You may apply this year if the following conditions have been met: The funds have been fully expended All follow-up grant reports have been submitted The program successfully met its goal My organization has a current grant through one of the Community Grant opportunities (Opportunities for Children, Culture & Community or Access to Health Care). Community Health Centers – $18,428 To provide services and activities designed to help older adults maintain independence and quality of life. Daily Living Centers – $22,500 To provide low-cost adult day services for older adults and adults with disabilities, as well as respite for their caregivers. Edmond Mobile Meals – $18,000 To offset the rise in costs to provide nutritious meals to homebound seniors in the community.
El Reno Blessing Baskets – $27,000 To support the Senior Citizens Monthly Grocery Program to address food insecurity, independence, and enhance dignity for older adults. Latino Community Development Agency – $27,000 To support the Puerta de ORO Senior Program to provide hot meals, social engagement, and wellness to Latino seniors in OKC. Meals on Wheels of Norman.
– $9,000 To provide nutritious meals to older adults in the community. Neighborhood Services Organization – $22,500 To provide no-cost transportation services to Palo Duro residents to connect them to services needed to maintain health and independence. Oklahoma Mobility Institute – $22,500 To support the Well Senior Health & Wellness Program in expanding transportation services in Canadian and Cleveland counties.
Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance – $23,000 To sustain and expand comprehensive programs serving Parkinson’s patients, such as speech therapy, exercise, family consultations, and support groups. Rebuilding Together OKC – $22,500 To support the Safe & Healthy Housing program to improve aging-in-place for low-income individuals through no-cost home repairs and modifications.
Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma – $27,000 To support Senior Mobile Markets to provide on-site food pantries for guest-choice shopping, access to fresh produce, dairy, pantry staples, and culturally appropriate foods. Restore OKC – $27,000 To keep older adults in their homes by covering emergency repairs to make independent living possible.
Variety Care – $20,000 To expand population health programming for older adults focused on using technology to access health care and community services. Ability Connection Oklahoma – $7,500 To support aging in place through mobility equipment for older adults to live safely and independently and support groups for their care givers.
Ambassadors’ Concert Choir – $5,000 To support active lifestyles and creative expression for older adults through participation community choir. Calm Waters Center for Children and Families – $12,500 To provide free grief support groups and holiday workshops for older adults to foster social connection during difficult seasons.
Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma – $15,000 To support a workshop series for caregivers of adult children with Down syndrome, focusing on aging-related topics. El Reno Blessing Baskets Inc. – $10,000 To purchase equipment for a new facility in support of a monthly grocery program to provide groceries and essentials to financially challenged households.
Fundación Manos Juntas – $30,000 To enhance independence and social engagement through home safety evaluations, food security support, care planning, caregiver assistance and educational workshops. Hope Community Services Inc. – $10,000 To promote overall wellness, regular health screenings and educational workshops on nutrition and chronic disease management. Hough Ear Institute – $10,000 To provide hearing aids for low-income seniors.
NewView Oklahoma Inc. – $10,000 To provide services to underserved Oklahomans to maximize their remaining vision to improve independence and quality of life. Oklahoma City Ballet – $12,000 To support free ballet classes for seniors and individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.
Oklahoma Mobility Institute – $10,000 To support access to transportation for older adults that no longer drive to access services that allow them to live independently Rebuilding Together OKC Inc. – $10,000 To provide no-cost home modifications to low-income homeowners with mobility issues and other disabilities to improve accessibility, safety and facilitate aging in place.
Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma – $20,000 To provide healthy, frozen meals to seniors with endurance, cognitive and mobility issues.
The University of Oklahoma Foundation – $15,000 To support a Lunch and Learn program for seniors to foster opportunities for learning, social engagement and community connection WovenLife – $15,000 To support weekly outings for adult day center participants to keep them mentally and physically engaged and to retrain independence.
City of Choctaw – $30,000 – For their Senior Alliance Program that promotes senior well-being and independence, lifelong learning and community engagement. Community Health Centers – $30,000 – To support their Senior Wellness and Safety program that helps increase physical activity, improve nutrition, stop smoking and enhance mental stimulation.
Compassionate Hands – $19,000 – For their Care-A-Van Program that provides transportation for medical appointments, errands and recreation for older adults in Yukon. Neighborhood Services Organization – $30,000 – To support programming that provides transportation to keep vulnerable older OKC adults in their homes.
Oklahoma City Ballet – $20,000 – To support the Golden Swans, a series of ballet and dance classes for older adults and individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance – $10,000 – To support the expansion of their LOUD Crowd program that provides Parkinson’s patients with speech therapy, social interaction and a cognitive challenge.
Prairie Dance Theatre – $6,650 – To support Aloha in Motion, their senior exercise program that helps improve physical health, fosters a sense of belonging and improves their quality of life. Reaching Our City – $15,000 – To support their Foundation Club and Dayspring Adult Day Health Centers that help older adults live independently as long as possible.
Rebuilding Together OKC – $30,000 – To support their Safe & Healthy Housing initiative that helps make common repairs and updates that help older adults remain independent in their homes. Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma – $22,600 – To support wellness activities that engage seniors and encourage them to become more social.
