Starting May 11 and running through June 12, Shipt is accepting applications for our 2026 Community Impact Grants to support local organizations fighting food insecurity. With nearly 1 in 7 households across the country experiencing food insecurity, the need for reliable, fresh food access is crucial.
This is why Shipt focuses on supporting multifaceted, holistic solutions – like Community Impact Grants , Garden Grants , and our LadderUp accelerator – that help strengthen community connections and bridge the hunger gap. This year’s grant program will focus on three impact areas: Mobile Markets: Bridging the food access gap by bringing the store directly to the community, serving as a consistent anchor for neighbors in need.
Teaching Farms: Connecting communities to hands-on education that helps them learn exactly where fresh food comes from and empowers them to grow it themselves. Food Hubs: Strengthening local food economies by providing the essential infrastructure that connects small-scale farmers to new local market opportunities.
Our grant tiers are designed to help community nonprofits pilot, scale, and innovate their food access programming: Seed (up to $10k) for new initiatives in the early phases, looking to gain the essential capital needed to move from concept to reality. Growth (up to $20k) for expanded reach & impact, designed for existing programs looking to scale to the next level.
Rooted (up to $35k/year) for established community anchors, looking to deepen and innovate their operational efforts. Planting Seeds for the Future As we enter the fourth year of Shipt's Community Impact Grant program, we're excited to welcome the next group of eligible nonprofits to join the 80+ organizations that have utilized this grant to transform access to fresh, nutritious food for their local communities."
Here is what some of our past grantees say about the program: “We are grateful for Shipt's two-year partnership. Just in these first few months of the grant, their support has helped our Food Hub deliver over 230,000 pounds of fresh produce to communities with limited food access, while FoodPrints reached 8,000 students across 21 DC schools with hands-on garden and kitchen education.
Together, these programs are creating lasting change—connecting people to nutritious food and the knowledge to choose it. ” – Beth Gunston, Senior Manager of Institutional Giving, FRESHFARM (Washington, D. C.)
“From day one, Shipt has shared our belief that food access and food education go hand in hand. That alignment has made this partnership incredibly powerful—allowing us to strengthen hands-on learning through Emeril’s Culinary Garden & Teaching Kitchen while extending access to fresh food into families’ homes through initiatives like our BAM! Box hydroponic grow kits.
When missions align this clearly, the work naturally reinforces itself and creates a deeper, more lasting impact. ” – Katie Mularz, Chief Impact Officer, Emeril Lagasse Foundation (New Orleans, La.) “The Shipt Teaching Farm Grant has enabled us to teach our families about the entire food process, including how to participate in growing food to sustain our bodies.
Our patients have benefited tremendously from this grant funding through the increased access to fresh produce and through the ability to take ownership of growing their own food. This could not have been possible without Shipt believing in our mission and partnering with us to start the Nourish Teaching Farm.
We are forever grateful to the funding they have provided, and we are excited about the future of our farm and the positive impact it will have on the community. ” – Katie Wolter, Executive Director, Nourish Teaching Farm (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) Application window: May 11, 2026 - June 12, 2026.
