The Small Business Grant program is designed to support both start-ups and established businesses that are looking to expand, innovate, or improve operational efficiency. The program prioritizes business owners residing in economically disadvantaged areas of Columbia and aims to strengthen local economic sustainability and community impact. A total of 8 grants will be awarded: To be eligible to apply for this funding, businesses must : be registered with the State of Missouri and have a Federal Tax ID (EIN) be located in Boone County and licensed to do business in the City of Columbia have 10 or fewer employees have a business bank account or establish one during the application process have generated less than $250,000 in gross sales during the previous 12 months be willing to work with a REDI business coach if selected.

1, businesses interested in applying for the grant may submit information that will be used to verify that they meet the eligibility requirements of the grant. Requested documents will include Certificate of Organization, Articles of Incorporation, and a State of Missouri business license, as well as proof of location, number of employees, and EIN.
We also will ask for a brief description of your business and the proposed community impact if funding is received. The deadline to submit information is Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 5 P.
M. Staff will review all submissions to determine eligibility. They will send notification to the businesses on Thursday, Aug.

18. Applicants who were verified as eligible will use this portal to submit written responses to questions about the following categories: Three judges will review the applications and award points using the scoring rubric. (This rubric can be found under the Documents tab.)
There are a total of 100 points possible. Points from all categories will be calculated and averaged. Geographical points will be added to the final score of those applicants who reside in the designated Census tract areas.
