Pathway to Shine | Sunshine Health Sunshine Health Pathway to Shine Specialty Plan Caring for Children in Florida’s Child Welfare System Sunshine Health provides personalized healthcare for children in Florida’s child welfare system to care for their physical and behavioral health needs.
Because we understand that improving the well-being of children is a community effort, we build a care coordination team around every child to best support his/her individual needs. Our integrated physical and behavioral health approach brings together healthcare providers, community-based care agencies, and foster, adoptive, permanent guardianship and biological parents to create a care plan to match each child’s needs.
Our specialized programs and services are offered at no cost to every child in or adopted from the state’s child welfare system. Transition Aged Youth: Adolescent to Adult Healthy Teen Pregnancy Program If you have any questions, we’re here to help Monday through Friday, 8 a. m.

Sunshine Health Pathway to Shine Specialty Plan Benefits to help you and your family $50 Over-The-Counter Benefit: $50 provided per household per month to buy products like cough, cold and allergy medications, first aid supplies and vitamins. Healthy Rewards Program: Take steps to protect your child’s health and earn reward dollars for completing certain preventive health activities, such as well child visits for some age groups and weight loss coaching. Care Grants: Up to $150 per child per year for services and supplies for social or physical activities, such as gym membership, sports equipment, art supplies and application fees for post high school education.
Transition Assistance: Up to $500 in one-time assistance for young adults transitioning out of foster care at age 18 or extended foster care at age 21. Life Skills Development: Education for children ages 12 and up with developmental disabilities to help them keep, learn or improve skills and functioning for daily living. Transportation : Unlimited to medical appointments; 3 trips per month for nonmedical needs.
