The foundation’s vision is deeply rooted in TDECU’s Purpose to help people navigate their financial journeys, and we are committed to extending this mission to enhance the well-being of our broader Community. The TDECU Cares Foundation will embody our commitment to supporting the focus areas of education, health and well-being, and Community enrichment.
As financial solvers, we invest in education to increase financial education, tailored health programs that remove financial barriers, and local Community enrichment initiatives that foster economic growth. We are more than just a charitable arm; we are stewards of transformative change. We are the heart of TDECU.
The foundation will house three programs–charitable grants, student scholarships, and financial wellness. The foundation's launch in 2024 presents a change for a new application grant cycle. We encourage organizations to submit requests during the cycle that works best for their budget. Applications must be submitted by the deadline to be considered for funding.
TDECU Cares Foundation Grant Cycles: Cycle 1: January 1-January 31 (cycle closes at 5:00 pm CST) Cycle 2: April 1-April 30 (cycle closes at 5:00 pm CST) Cycle 3: July 1-July 31 (cycle closes at 5:00 pm CST) Cycle 4: October 1-October 31 (cycle closes at 5:00 pm CST) All grants must be submitted via our online grants application system .

The Homeless Youth Program is a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services that funds services for homeless and at-risk youth across Illinois. Administered through the Office of Community and Positive Youth Development, it supports nonprofit organizations delivering shelter, outreach, and support services to young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Community Investment Tax Credit Program (CITC) is a grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development that provides state tax credit allocations to 501(c)(3) nonprofits, enabling them to attract private donations from individuals and businesses. Donors contributing $500 or more to approved projects receive tax credits equal to 50% of their contribution. The program has leveraged nearly $27 million in charitable contributions to approximately 700 projects statewide.
