The Fund awards grants of up to £3,000 to support charities and community groups or individuals to deliver activities in Thamesmead that connect the community and support social and cultural activities. Following the success of these grants, Peabody are continuing the fund and invite individuals and community groups across Thamesmead to apply for funding of up to £3,000. *Please note that £10,000 of this pot (April '26 to Mar '27) will be ringfenced for projects taking place at Moorings Sociable Club and another £10,000 towards nature-based projects What can the fund support?
Applications must be for projects/activities that demonstrate benefits for the wider Thamesmead community and meet one or more of the following themes: 1. Increases levels of arts and cultural activity 2. Supports educational outcomes for a group 3.
Brings the community together 4. Seeks to improve local health and wellbeing 5. Encourages community use of local outdoor spaces 6.
Supports activities to strengthen children and family relationships 7. Help people develop new skills 8. Provides local services or activities for older people 9.
Use nature of gardening to bring people together 10. Provide opportunities for people to connect with and enjoy the natural environment 11. Increase biodiversity in Thamesmead Grants of up to £3,000 are available covering costs relating to the proposed project.
The Thamesmead Community Fund (TMCF) will provide grants for not-for-profit organisations* including charities and community organisations, and also for Thamesmead residents aged 18+ who have an existing or new project. Applicant organisations must have an annual income of £100,000 or less.
To apply to this fund, please take a look at the fund guidelines and application form guidance by clicking on the buttons below or at the top right-hand side of the screen and then clicking on the 'Apply now' button. The extended deadline for applications is now 10 am on Tuesday 26th May 2026. Decisions will be released in w/e Friday 10th July 2026.
We accept applications for projects taking place in publicly accessible venues and on Peabody land, providing these are safe to access and all relevant health and safety documents have been submitted. If you require a community space to deliver your project, we would like to encourage you to consider The Nest and Moorings Sociable Club to help bring the spaces to life with new and exciting activity for local residents to access.
If your activity is taking place between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, both venues will be available for at a subsidised rate of £10 per hour. The Nest is located near Southmere Lake, 3 Cygnet Square, London, SE2 9FA. Moorings Sociable Club is located at Arnott Close, Thamesmead SE28 8BG.
