The Summit Center Receives KidCents Regional Grant from The Rite Aid Foundation - The Summit Center The Summit Center Receives KidCents Regional Grant from The Rite Aid Foundation The Rite Aid Foundation recently awarded a $15,000 KidCents Regional Grant to The Summit Center for an EyeClick BEAM Interactive Floor and additional fitness equipment for Summit’s Expeditions and Adventures respite programs.
“We are so grateful to The Rite Aid Foundation for providing us with this generous grant that will positively impact the individuals we serve,” said Stephen R. Anderson, Ph. D.
, Chief Executive Officer of The Summit Center. The BEAM Floor is a sophisticated interactive floor that offers a varied range of motion-activated games that challenge children to move around the virtual display and engage their whole bodies to play. This fitness-based program will provide a fun, healthy, and safe play place for the individuals we serve in our after-school programs.
The KidCents Regional Grant Program, which provides grants of $15,000-$30,000, funds specific out-of-school time programs focused on children’s nutrition, physical fitness and academic success.
The KidCents program also annually supports a select group of more than 400 nonprofit, kid-focused organizations committed to improving the health and wellbeing of children living in the communities Rite Aid serves, as well as national organizations focused on critical children’s issues.
“The Rite Aid Foundation is committed to being a caring neighbor and making meaningful differences for the children and families who live in the communities we serve,” said Tracy Henderson, Director of The Rite Aid Foundation and Charitable Giving Initiatives.
