The program gives youth access to the latest technology, mentors to build confidence and a foundation of skills for school and career success. Best Buy Teen Tech Center® grants are invitation-only and are awarded to local nonprofit partners to host Teen Tech Center locations.
Funding contributes to construction and startup costs, staffing (including at least 1 full-time role dedicated to supporting the Teen Tech Center) and training & development, and ongoing career programming. Is a Teen Tech Center coming to your community?
Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide hands-on, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and/or mathematics) skills training and paid summer internships to teens participating in the Best Buy Teen Tech Center Career Pathways program.
The Career Pathways Program (available in select Teen Tech Center locations) provides Teen Tech Center members ages 16-19 with the opportunity to earn money while developing key technical, professional, and life skills. Teen Tech Centers are paired with Technical Skills Partners (nonprofits supported by this grant), who can increase technical skill proficiency, provide career readiness and exploration, and secure internships.
Prospective organizations should have a demonstrated track record of asset-based programming that amplifies the strengths of young people from disinvested communities and experience engaging teens in out-of-school time settings. The Career Pathways program runs October 1 - August 15. How do I apply for a grant?
First, identify which grant category your proposal is best suited for. Details on each application’s components can be found in the Learn More and Apply link under the appropriate grant. During the application window for the selected grant category, click on the application link to determine eligibility.
