The TVA said this program is similar to the TVA STEM Award program, where teachers and robotics team sponsors apply.
To apply, the current or aspiring robotics team must either serve youth ages 5 to 18 years old, or be a part of a public or private school, grades K-12. Applicants must also be in the TVA service area and receive electricity from a local power company served by TVA. In total, $700,000 will be awarded to successful applicants across the area.
Of these funds, the robotics organizations can use the money to purchase necessary robotics kits, tools, and materials for the kids. The money can also be used to pay entry fees for robotics competitions, according to the TVA. “Today's youth will become tomorrow's creators,” TVA President and CEO Don Moul said.
“They will become the engineers and tradespeople who build communities, create jobs, and make our region an even better place to live. That’s why it’s important for TVA and BVI to invest in initiatives like robotics programs. ” The deadline to apply is May 15, 2026.

The National Leadership Grants for Libraries Program (NLG-L) supports projects that address critical needs of the library and archives fields and have the potential to advance practice and strengthen library and archival services for the American public. Successful proposals will generate results such as new models, tools, research findings, services, practices, and/or alliances that can be widely used, adapted, scaled, or replicated to extend and leverage the benefits of federal investment. Applications to IMLS should both advance knowledge and understanding and ensure that the federal investment made generates benefits to society.
