U.S. Reproductive Health Initiative • The David and Lucile Packard Foundation You might be looking for: U.S. Reproductive Health Initiative Creating a future where people in all 50 states have access to high-quality, affordable abortion and contraceptive care.
The ability to choose whether and when to have a child, to give birth safely, and to raise children in a supportive environment is essential to living a healthy, empowered life and foundational to a just and equitable society. Yet today, too many people of reproductive age live in a state that limits or restricts access to reproductive care, including abortion.
Our grantmaking focuses on two urgent priorities: supporting work at the state level and funding innovations to expand access to abortion and contraceptive services. As part of our state-based strategy, we support state-level efforts that protect, regain, and expand access to abortion and contraception, continuing our decade-long investments in reproductive health and justice organizations in Louisiana and Mississippi.
In addition to our work in the states, we are building on our long track record of investments in mission-driven reproductive health companies and initiatives to advance safe, affordable contraceptives and medication abortion that have the potential for outsized impact on millions of people’s lives.
