The UK AI Security Institute (AISI) Alignment Project provides grants of up to £1 million (approximately $1. 3 million) per project for research on preventing advanced AI systems from exhibiting dangerous behavior. The program specifically supports work on robust alignment, oversight, and monitoring techniques for advanced AI systems.
This is one of AISI's flagship research funding programs, complementing its Challenge Fund and Systemic Safety Grants. The Alignment Project targets fundamental research questions about ensuring AI systems reliably follow human intentions and values, with a particular focus on scalable oversight methods and techniques that remain effective as AI capabilities increase.
