UNRESTRICTED OPERATING SUPPORT CYCLE - Menorah Heritage Foundation Please make sure you have read our grant information page to ensure you are eligible to apply and a good fit for funding.
Our Unrestricted Operating Support Cycle provides mission-based operating support through unrestricted grants to organizations providing emergency assistance, shelter, safety-net health care, child welfare and youth services and other critical human services.
This unrestricted funding may be used for organizational expenses which are part of a board-approved annual budget, including administrative salaries, employee benefits, utilities, office supplies and equipment, technology, rent and professional development. Eligible organizations must be based in and provide the majority of their services in the metro Kansas City area.
The following organizations are not eligible to apply in the Unrestricted Operating Support Cycle: colleges and universities, hospitals, K-12 schools, arts organizations, organizations that require or advocate religious activity as part of or in exchange for services, organizations with annual budgets in excess of approximately $5 million dollars, and local chapters of regional or national organizations who cannot provide local financial information and/or whose local operating budgets exceed $5 million dollars.

Organizations we fund represent that they, and the funds used from our grants, do not promote hate or antisemitism. Two definitions being used widely are the IHRA working definition of antisemitism and the Jerusalem Declaration. Organizations funded by MHF also may not discriminate based on race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran or disability status.
By applying, your organization warrants that it has in place policies and procedures to ensure that you understand our policy and grant funds will not be used to negatively affect the actual and perceived safety and wellbeing of staff, clients, community partners and others and that your board of directors/trustees and staff are committed to such principles.
This cycle consists of two phases: a Letter of Intent, followed by a full Grant Application for those invited to apply. The Letter of Intent information will be available by March 1 . Deadline for submission is March 16 at 11:59 p.
