Funding Your Green Efforts “… connecting Junk King with available equipment to aid us in the performance of recycling is beyond anything a business would expect. ” - Jack Brendamour , Junk King Food Rescue Equipment Grant This competitive grant provides up to $200,000 for agencies in Hamilton County, Ohio, to increase the amount of surplus food diverted from the landfill for human consumption.
Communities, schools, non-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses engaging in the rescue of surplus food are eligible to apply. Applicants must explain how this funding will divert an additional 250 tons of surplus food from the landfill within two years.

Staubach@hamiltoncountyohio. gov Waste Reduction Innovation Grant The Waste Reduction Innovation Grant supports projects that advance innovative approaches to waste reduction. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis with no formal due date; however, as available funds are committed, approved projects may need to wait until the following year to receive funding.
Applicants should be encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Up to $15,000 per project 25% match required (may be provided in kind) Once a grant contract is signed by all parties—typically 3–4 months after proposal submission—100% of the awarded funds are released upfront. Any unused grant funds must be returned at the end of the grant period.

If you are interested in having ReSource act as a government sponsor on the behalf of your company, you must send a request to Mary Cropenbaker at least two months before the grant deadline and your project must meet the following qualifications: The project has to contribute to the mission of ReSource and reduce material going to the landfill from Hamilton County While ReSource staff are available to assist with editing and finding resources, you need to provide all the information for the grant application including project narratives, budget, and any necessary documentation.
All grants have to be approved by the ReSource Policy Committee and Hamilton County Board of Commissioners. As a County department, we are subject to Freedom of Information Act requests and cannot promise that information you submit for the grant will stay proprietary.
