Although WHDC’s main source of funding through Columbia University ended last year, we will provide support to West Harlem through the Community Based Grants (CBG) program this year. Recent cuts to funds by the federal government have already and will continue to stress our overburdened community, but WHDC will continue to strategically support programs that effectively impact the needs of our community.
WHDC intends to focus on programs that have a deep and significant impact on our community by supporting programs to protect and preserve affordable housing, support and promote equity in the arts, support our youth and older adults, and help spur economic development throughout the district. Compelling narratives and corresponding and complete supporting documents will make applications more competitive.
