Biblical Translations - The Bolick Foundation Thank you for your wonderful advocacy for our work and service in 2023 We are very grateful. The full Bolick Foundation grant was utilized as we had projected: (a) Goal: Complete 11 translations of Luke.
Result: 10 Luke translations completed, and translation of two additional Gospels completed by four of the teams: Laos: Four Luke translations and translation of two additional Gospels were completed in Laos by the first four teams before a Translation Agency asked them to stop. . Pakistan: Six Luke Gospels were completed as planned along with solid Luke translation progress made among deaf language teams (a more complex process).
(b)Goal: Mobilize an additional 23 Bible translation teams for focus in 23 new languages (14 in Laos and nine in Pakistan): Result: Seventeen additional Bible translation teams focused on new languages. Ten additional teams were mobilized in Pakistan, adding one more deaf language team (now three deaf languages).
Only seven of the projected 17 additional teams were added in Laos due to additional objections from a Bible Translation Agency.
(c) Goal: Strengthen the translation capacities of church networks in Laos and Pakistan through the Church Centric Bible Translation Academy (CCBT Academy): Result: Planned workshops to train Master Trainers, Quality Checkers, and Mother Tongue Translators were completed with deep appreciation by the teams who were trained.
See below for additional story-form insight into training logistics, processes, and Life stories that accompany the above accomplishments are what move us the most. As these emerging leaders are growing and changing because of deeper engagement with God’s Word, this spills over into the Church which becomes more mature through their influence. The harvest force for accelerating Bible translation in these countries grows substantially!
