edu/academics/current-initiatives/p20/college-completion-innovation-fund/# "Page Menu") # College Completion Innovation Fund * College Completion Innovation Fund College Completion Innovation Fund (CCIF) is a collaborative education fund that leverages partnerships with community-based organizations and colleges to address barriers that disproportionately affect New Yorkers with historically underrepresented backgrounds succeed and persist in college.
CCIF has invested more than $8 million to support projects that aim to significantly improve student completion outcomes. A majority of the students served by these projects are low-income students, first-generation college students, students of color, and others who are traditionally underrepresented among college degree holders.
A New York City where all students regardless of race, zip code, or socioeconomic status are able to attain a post-secondary degree that empowers them to achieve a fulfilling future. **Our mission** is to strengthen and support New York City’s educational ecosystem to dismantle institutional barriers in order to increase individual student success.
Foster innovation and the implementation, replication, and scaling of successful best practices and programs throughout New York City. Advocate for education policies that adapt continuously to meet the needs of all NYC students. Cultivate intentional collaborations to ensure that students are seamlessly supported through their educational journeys, improving student experience.
Establish a network of professional colleagues, and make educational information accessible and actionable for practitioners. CCIF actively promotes a deeper understanding of student journeys and works to remove barriers to their success.
Through the initiatives it backs, CCIF aims to enhance existing programs and streamline processes, advocate for impactful policy changes, and foster a culture of data sharing and research dissemination to enhance transparency. These concerted efforts are geared towards achieving significant advancements in college readiness and graduation rates across New York City.
**Bronx Community College,The Finish Line Project:**Re-engaging Adults for Degree Completion The Finish Line Project re-engages adult stop-out students through holistic support—advising, academic intervention, career readiness, and wraparound services—helping 300 learners return, persist, and graduate despite academic, financial, and life challenges successfully.
**CUNY School of Professional Studies, From Coursework to Career Signals:** Digital Skills Badges for Working Adult Learners From Coursework to Career Signals helps adult learners translate coursework into employer-recognized skills through digital badges embedded in Brightspace, improving career visibility, persistence, and advancement for working students.
**LaGuardia Community College**, **Adult Learner Evening Hub:**Resources, Access, and Dedicated Space for Adult Learners The Adult Learner Evening Hub provides coordinated evening access to advising, tutoring, financial aid, career services, and basic needs, removing time barriers, improving persistence, accelerating degree completion, and building college culture.
