State opens road safety grant program - Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) State opens road safety grant program Home → News → Municipal Services --> The Office of Grants and Research on April 28 announced the opening of the Municipal Road Safety Grant Program, which provides funding to municipal law enforcement agencies to support traffic safety enforcement in an effort to reduce traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities, and associated economic impacts.
The program, funded through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, makes federal funds available for police departments to address local traffic safety issues, including vehicle, bike and pedestrian safety enforcement, equipment, and traffic-safety programs. Only Massachusetts municipal law enforcement agencies are eligible to apply.
Questions may be submitted to the Office of Grants and Research through May 20. The program website has more information, including application materials and guidelines. California State Nonprofit Security Grant Program (CSNSGP) is a grant from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services that funds target hardening and security enhancements for nonprofit organizations at high risk for violent attacks and hate crimes due to their ideology, beliefs, or mission. FEMA-provided funds can be used for equipment, training, exercises, and supplies to protect against terrorism and other threats. The FY26 application deadline is Friday, April 3, 2026, and applications are submitted via the MOHS JotForm portal. National priorities require allocating at least 10% toward border crisis response and 3% toward election security.
