Comunidad Grants - Community Foundation for Southern Arizona Since 2024, the Comunidad Grants program has grant ed $394 ,571 to 46 nonprofits in Southern Arizona . Comunidad Grants provide organizations working at the local level with their communities to address emerging issues. The program is dedicated to supporting grassroots nonprofits who are often most in need of unrestricted funding.
CFSA values community. Rooted in mutual trust, this program aims to give nonprofits autonomy over resource allocation to achieve their mission . Applicant must be a 501(c)3 in good standing or apply using a fiscal sponsor.
If applying with a fiscal sponsor, fiscal sponsor must be 501(c)3 in good standing. Applicant must be based in Southern Arizona (we welcome applicants from all counties south of the Gila River, including Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz, Yuma, and some of Pinal County). Applicant must have an established board.
Applicant must be current in all reporting to CFSA. Applicant must have an annual operating budget under $100,000. Grants are generally not made to individuals, for-profit organizations, government entities, capital fund drives, agency endowments, debt reduction, individual schools, religious organizations for sectarian purposes, pure sports teams.
Comunidad Grants are scored according to a rubric representative of the following characteristics: Awareness of community needs Organizational response to community need Financial impact of grant on organizational mission Operational sustainability CFSA values community. As a permanent community resource, we understand that transformative impact takes time and trust. We promote inclusion and dignity for everyone.
All applicants meeting criteria are welcome and will be considered for funding, however, funding priority will be given to the following: • Organizations located in or conducting charitable work in rural areas. • Organizations whose charitable work directly impacts historically marginalized communities.
