00 is available for Fiscal Year 2027. Maximum grant amount: $150,000 . 00 which can be spent over two years.
Applicants may apply to remodel, construct, or repurpose space for gender-neutral single-user restrooms across multiple sites, however no more than $75,000. 00 may be spent per site. For the purposes of this grant, a site is defined as one physical building.
For example, an applicant that has a high school and a middle school in the same shared building is not eligible to apply for $150,000. 00. At least 80% of funds in this program must be used for remodeling, constructing, and repurposing space for single-user, gender-neutral restrooms.
Up to 20% of funds in this program may go toward engagement and implementation. Submit all required material to mde. compgrants@state.

Board Approved Facilities Plan (if applicable) MDE is invested in funding projects that are feasible within the timeline and scope of the grant, and will award 5 priority points for programs that demonstrate feasibility.
If the applying agency has a board approved facilities plan that includes provisions for providing a gender-neutral, single-user restroom at the site(s) identified in the application, they should submit the approved plan with application materials.
