National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program | About iCanConnect—or the National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP)—is a nationwide network of local contacts who answer questions, oversee applications, and provide free equipment and training to participants. All local contacts follow the same national program eligibility requirements and guidelines.
With the below goals in mind, iCanConnect provides participants with free equipment, software and training to meet individual communication preferences and distance communication goals. Installation and technical support for these products are also available. Goal #1: Provide technology and training iCanConnect provides distance communications technology and training for people with combined hearing and vision loss.
Browse equipment and technology Goal #2: Increase independence The process starts by reviewing the eligibility guidelines, finding your local contact, then finally applying to the program. Once accepted, all participants receive an individual assessment of their communication goals and communication preferences. Then equipment is ordered, installed and training begins.
Free equipment support is also available as needed. iCanConnect—or the National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP)—was established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in an effort to comply with the 21st Century Video and Communications Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA).
