Funding opportunity for new EV charging stations Funding opportunity for new EV charging stations SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced the third official notice of funding opportunity through the Illinois National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program, which will provide approximately $65. 6 million for the construction of charging stations across the state.
The latest opportunity builds on the first two rounds, which awarded funding for 62 charging stations along Illinois interstates to help meet Gov. JB Pritzker’s goal to have 1 million electric vehicles on Illinois roads by 2030. “With Gov. Pritzker leading the way, IDOT is continuing its work to create and support safe, reliable options for clean, affordable travel,” said Illinois Transportation Secretary Gia Biagi.
“This funding will help sustain and improve charging infrastructure that benefits drivers in communities throughout Illinois, providing a welcome boost for local economies. ” Applications must be received by Feb. 13.
Applicants are encouraged to submit before the deadline, however, as applications will be considered on a rolling basis. All application materials can be found at https://idot. click/NEVI .
