The National Fund for Sacred Places provides matching grants of $50,000 to $500,000 to congregations undertaking significant capital projects at historic houses of worship, along with wraparound services including training, technical assistance, and planning support. Typically, 30-40 grantees that meet all of the eligibility requirements and exemplify the program criteria are accepted into the National Fund program in October.
All application submission steps take place through our online grants management system, Foundant. Applications through the Foundant grant system will be accepted from any eligible congregation. Applications must be submitted in the Foundant grant system by 11:59 pm EST on March 3, 2026 Funding decisions will be made with the Advisory Committee , and grantees will be notified in October.

Since 2016, the National Fund has awarded or pledged over $33 million to 167 community-serving congregations representing 28 faith traditions or denominations in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. So far, this grantmaking has resulted in over $4 leveraged for every grant dollar invested in participating congregations.
The National Fund administers monies through planning grants, wraparound training and technical assistance, and capital grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000. Jerome Early-Career Project Grants is a grant from Forecast Public Art, funded by the Jerome Foundation, that funds the creation of new public art projects by early-career artists based in Minnesota. Two grants of $8,000 each are awarded annually to support temporary or permanent public artworks anywhere in Minnesota. Projects may be supported by public or nonprofit agencies but private commissions are not eligible, and a secured project site is required at the time of application. The program places special emphasis on supporting BIPOC and Native artists, LGBTQIA+ artists, women artists, immigrant artists, rural artists, and artists with disabilities. The Local Cultural Council Program is a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council distributing $1,000 to $10,000 through a statewide network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) representing every city and town in the Commonwealth.
