Supporting Programs — NEXTCYCLE MICHIGAN Application Period : May 1, 2026 - June 30, 2026 Total Amount Available : $300,000 Award Size : $8,000 - $10,000 The NextCycle Michigan Seed Award Program is providing small-scale funding and support to early-stage projects focused on keeping materials out of landfill.
These awards are designed to help businesses, public sector entities, solid waste authorities, tribal governments, universities/colleges, and non-profits get a jump-start to launch or scale a solution which fills a gap in Michigan’s circular economy. Seed Awards are funded by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) as part of NextCycle Michigan.
Applicants do not have to be involved in other aspects of the NextCycle Michigan program to apply. LEARN MORE & APPLY HERE: SEED AWARDS NextCycle Michigan, with support from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), has redesigned the Michigan Materials Marketplace’s on the Rheaply platform.
The Michigan Materials Marketplace enhances the buying, selling, and donating of surplus materials — keeping items out of landfills and in circulation to be repaired, reused, or recycled into new products.
Application Period : January 12 - March 13, 2026 Total Amount Available : $3 Million Per Grant Amount Available : $50,000 - $250,000 The Circular Economy Grants are funded by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) as part of NextCycle Michigan.
The grants are designed to support the development of circular supply chains in Michigan, utilizing otherwise wasted material streams by advancing reuse, repair, remanufacturing, recycling, organics recovery, composting or scaling markets for recovered materials.
Applicants must be physically located in Michigan and can be a single entity or a collaboration including businesses, non-profit organizations, tribal governments, school districts, universities, colleges, local health departments, regional planning agencies, municipal solid waste or resource recovery authorities, cities, villages, townships, charter townships, counties, or similar entities.

NextCycle Michigan in collaboration with the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University is pleased to announce the availability of technical assistance to support disadvantaged communities and businesses in advancing the circular economy in Michigan!
This activity is an extension of the NextCycle Michigan programming and is funded by an Economic Development Association (EDA) Build to Scale grant and the State Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

The MICRO Scale 3Rs Solutions Program is a grant program of up to $10,000 designed for recycling entrepreneurs, municipalities, businesses, or non-profits who need a little help to make a big impact. While similar to a traditional grant program, MICROS has a simpler application and more flexible spending opportunities. Four Cycles throughout 2020-2022 awarded small grants to over 50 projects across Michigan.
