The Purina Pro Plan Grant Program awards grants of up to $5,000 annually to national dog breed clubs to support breed health, education, events, and preservation efforts. The program replaced the Purina Parent Club Partnership (PPCP), which was discontinued in December 2025 after more than two decades and over $9 million raised for canine health research and rescue.

Applications open each June and are due by September 30, with funding decisions announced in early December. Organizations must reapply annually to continue receiving support.

Through the Pro Plan Grant Program, we aim to be a strategic financial partner for breed clubs as they work toward a positive future for these exceptional breeds.
Since 2002, Pro Plan has helped to raise over $9 million towards canine health research, education and rescue efforts. Breed clubs can apply for a grant for up to $5,000, to be used towards education, health initiatives, events and more that support breed preservation efforts. The process happens annually.
The application window opens in June, with applications due at the end of September. Decisions are sent out in early December. Not-for-Profit national breed clubs affiliated with registries such as AKC and UKC or 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations whose primary function is to promote, protect, and preserve specific dog breeds.
