The Raskob Foundation’s mission is to aid the Roman Catholic Church by providing resources in support of organizations, ministries, programs and projects associated with it throughout the world. What types of programs does the Foundation support?
The Raskob Foundation supports a large variety of programs and projects, addressing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, as well as Catholic Social Teachings.
The docket is one of goodness, supporting programs that meet social or spiritual needs of individuals, particularly those on the margins, such as welcoming the stranger, feeding the hungry, accompanying the vulnerable, providing access to education, or aiding in faith formation. What are the eligibility criteria for applying?
Applicants must be a Catholic entity, and the proposed programs should align with the Foundation’s mission and focus areas. What is the “Helpful Amount”? The “Helpful Amount” is an amount that is LESS THAN the Amount Requested , which would still be helpful in moving the project or program forward.
The Foundation may look towards this amount in the event it is unable to provide the full request amount but would still like to contribute in a way that is meaningful to the project or program. How is a grant application reviewed? Regional grant making committees and the Board of Trustees , comprised of family members.
The regional committee members review applications, prioritize requests, and make funding recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees reviews the collective Committee recommendations and priorities and allocates resources for a given cycle based on these recommendations. Because requests far exceed resources, approximately one in every four or five applications receives an awar d .
There are no minimum or maximum grant request amounts; the average grant award for the Domestic Grant Program (two cycles per year) is $15,000 - $35,000 and for the International Grant Program ( one cycle per year) is $30,000 - $60,000 . Can an organization submit multiple applications in a grant cycle? Yes, an organization can submit multiple applications in each grant cycle.
If submitting multiple applications, the applications should be for distinctly different programs within the organization. Can an organization submit for a multi-year grant? Yes, multi-year grant requests are available, however, are not common, and should align with the request purpose.
For example, it increases the sustainability of a new (or growing) project or initiative that requires time to establish a funding base, etc. If applying for a multi-year grant, be cognizant of the overall average grant size being requested given average grant sizes. Typically, multi-year grants are only two to three years in duration. How can I submit a grant application?
