If you are new to the Foundation, please register yourself as a user and your organization through the Fluxx Grant Portal. Registrations are approved during standard business hours, Eastern Standard Time. The approval process typically takes 1-2 business days.
If your organization is already registered but you are not registered as a user, you will need to register as a new user. The grant portal functions best in Chrome, Safari or Firefox internet browsers. Once your registration is approved, you will have the opportunity to choose from four application formats: capital project, program grant, and annual fund.
Please choose the application that best suits your request and submit your request. If you are requesting support for an event, please use the annual fund application. The foundation does not fund individuals.

The Justin Brooks Fisher Foundation has a targeted geographic focus on Boulder County, Colo. and Pittsburgh, Pa. While the Foundation supports a wide range of environmental initiatives, it is particularly focused on the following: * Environmental education * Innovative strategies to slow climate change We ask that your project or idea fit into one of these areas.
Project proposals outside of these areas are by invitation only. What is the typical grant size? Using the grant search tool, previous years’ grants can be searched and viewed to provide a sense of grant size.
Applicants are encouraged to set request amounts based on actual need and in consideration of the Foundation’s grant amounts for similar projects in previous years. Does the Foundation make multi-year grants? The Foundation does consider a limited number of multi-year grants.
Does the Foundation fund individuals? Scholarships? Fundraising events?
The Foundation is not permitted to fund individuals, but will consider a limited number of scholarships and fundraising events. I see that the Foundation is part of Hillman Family Foundations (HFF). Should I apply to the other HFF foundations, too?

Registrations are approved during standard business hours, Eastern Standard Time. The approval process typically takes 1-2 business days. Once you and your organization are registered and you have a username and password, then you are welcome to complete the online application.
Please review the grant process section of the website. Should I share my project and/or idea before applying? Applicant organizations are best able to weigh their mission and funding ideas against the foundation’s priorities as presented on the homepage.

Unfortunately, with limited staff capacity and the volume of requests received, it is difficult for the staff to make time for exploratory conversations although they are often invited based on the review of requests submitted. Program staff try to stay current, but it's more likely that these types of materials are reviewed when a request is submitted for consideration. Who is the best point of contact for participating in a feasibility study for a capital campaign? The Foundation generally does not participate in feasibility studies for capital campaigns.
The information on our organization’s profile is no longer correct (i.e. staffing changes, new address, annual budget growth). How do we update it? There is a feature in the online grant portal (Fluxx) for grantees to request changes to their organization’s profile.
When you log into Fluxx, in the menu on the left-hand side, select “My organization. ” Click “Edit” at the top right of the page, make the necessary changes, and click save. Then click “Request Changes” at the bottom right to notify the Foundation.
