High Contrast Mode On or Off switch Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Urban Green and Community Gardens Grant Program The Urban Green and Community Gardens Grant Program (UGCG) is available to Distressed Municipalities, Targeted Investment Communities and Environmental Justice Communities.
It provides funding assistance to enhance urban green spaces for public enjoyment and/or environmental education. This can include green infrastructure (rain gardens/bioswales), community gardens, native plantings and passive walking paths. Grants are awarded to projects that demonstrate the highest ability to benefit urban communities in close proximity to population centers.

Northern California Environmental Grassroots Fund is a grant from Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment that funds small and emerging grassroots organizations in California building climate resilience and advancing environmental justice. The fund prioritizes groups rooted in historically marginalized communities, including BIPOC, frontline, and low-income populations, with strong advocacy, organizing, and outreach components.
